Author Review Lisa Jackson is one of the better detective novel writers. There's usually some romance in her books which is always a bonus. I only knew her as a thriller-suspense writer, never realized she wrote anything else... then I picked up Sorceress, it was a medieval science fiction type book, couldn't even read it (I don't like sci-fi books in general), gave it to Kathleen for her to read... then I picked up another book (can't remember the name but it had two books in one) and about halfway through the first book I realized no one had gotten murdered!!!??? That's when I found out Lisa also wrote romance novels! It was decent enough, but I gave it to Kathleen to read without reading the second book included. Author's Re-occurring Characters Detective Rueben Montoya (New Orleans) Absolute Fear Okay, I couldn't put this book down. Luckily, I was reading over the weekend, so I didn't have to call in sick after staying up all night finishing the book. Great romance, great twists, great storyline. My only problem with the book was the continual references to Jackson's other books in the series. Certain specifics kept tugging on my brain, but no clear connection was made. I suppose I may have read one of the other books, but there was nothing memorable. Luckily, even without the background information, the plot and resolution still made sense and the book was an amazing read. 04.06.08 Another crazed psycho serial killer is on the loose. Another book with lots of blood. I believe this book is related to Shiver and another book - the ones with the rosary killer. Another great read from Lisa Jackson. 04.01.08 Almost Dead Great book... AMAZING ending! 12.15.08 Secrets
This book is composed of two of Jackson’s novels, Pirate’s Gold and Dark Side of the Moon. Both stories have the basic romance plot line, just with different characters and different settings. This would be a good beach read. You know, when you need something mindless to pass the time. 12.15.08
