Robert B. Parker has written many books that are pretty straight-forward detective-type books. I always chose one of his books to read when I need something "light" - like a beach-read. I find his books enjoyable, but I don't have to worry about becomming too involved where I can't go to sleep until I finish the book. 12.15.08
